Matt is passionate about helping people access BC's legal system to pursue accountability, fairness and justice.

After graduating from the Allard School of Law at UBC in 2008, he articled and practiced with the federal Department of Justice, representing various federal public safety agencies, including the RCMP and the Department of National Defence.

In 2014, Matt relocated to Kelowna where he joined a mid-size firm practicing personal injury law, and serving as local agent for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

In 2020, Matt made a major career shift to better align his professional pursuits with his personal values, launching a solo legal practice focused on mental health law, sexual tort litigation and litigation coaching for self-represented litigants. He also founded BTRFLY Legal to create and launch an online platform to make it easy and affordable for people with common legal issues to speak with a lawyer.

Matt is a member of the Canadian Bar Association BC Branch, the Trial Lawyers Association of BC, Accelerate Okanagan, and the Greater Vancouver Interactive Arts Society.
