Kaitlyn lives in Nanaimo and has been a member of the BC legal community since earning her JD from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2015.

She articled and worked as an associate at a full service, mid-size law firm in Kamloops where she focused her practice on civil litigation, mainly in the areas of municipal law, plaintiff personal injury, commercial disputes, and other miscellaneous civil suits.

Her particular strengths are undertaking research on complex legal questions, and effectively communicating and tailoring her analysis to account for the intended audience and the best interests of the client.

In 2018, Kaitlyn moved to part-time practice and began an LLM at the Allard School of Law at UBC, studying civil access to justice in BC courts and tribunals. She completed her LLM in the fall of 2020 and is now working toward her PhD.

Her current research project continues to look at civil access to justice, and how it intersects with inequality and the institutional structures of BC courts and tribunals. For the last year and a half, her main focus has been developing her research, though she has continued to engage in pro bono work.
