A long-time Vancouver resident, Kaarina is a graduate of BCIT’s biotechnology program, and also obtained her undergraduate degree in philosophy at UBC. During her time at UBC’s Allard School of Law, where she earned a specialization in Law and Social Justice, Kaarina completed a clinical externship with Rise Women’s Legal Centre, interned for Battered Women’s Support Services, and managed a successful e-commerce site. 

Currently, Kaarina is a staff lawyer at Access Pro Bono, where she manages the Residential Tenancy Program and the Virtual Family Mediation Program. Additionally, she supervises Everyone Legal Clinic articling clinicians on tenancy matters, and is also an accredited family law mediator. 

Drawing from her personal experiences as a client before becoming a lawyer, Kaarina is dedicated to empathetic and client-centered advocacy. She strives to understand the challenges clients face, and is committed to empowering them through education and clear communication. Her approach focuses on delivering practical, unbundled legal services that are both effective and affordable, including summary legal advice to help you determine how best to move forward with your issue.
