Alison earned her BA (Honours) from Queen’s University in 2015, worked in the UK and US for five years, and then earned her JD from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in June 2023.

At law school, Alison developed her interest in public law from a placement at the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, her involvement in pro bono work, and her completion of a certificate in public international law. Prior to law school, she worked as a legal assistant at an immigration law firm, and as an interpreter at free legal and medical clinics. She was inspired to study and practice law—particularly public interest law— by the clients, staff and lawyers she met while working in the legal sector.

Though not originally from BC, Alison has family in the province who she visited frequently while growing up. After living on the east coast, she is excited to explore Kelowna, and to be back in BC.

In her free time, Alison enjoys hiking, watching soccer, and travelling.
