Zuleika Gedeon (she/her)
Zuleika is a part-time practicing lawyer. Although recently called to the Bar, she has over 13 years experience providing advice and representation through all stages of the WorkSafeBC claims and appeal processes. As a Community Lawyer with Everyone Legal Clinic, she continues to provide legal advice with WorkSafeBC claims, and representation before WorkSafeBC’s Review Division and the Workers Compensation Appeal Tribunal.
Her professional experience comes primarily from her government and non-profit work, including her front-line client service work. Having worked for various government agencies and non-profit organizations, she is familiar with government processes, and the application of law and policy to real life situations. She has supported, served and assisted the most vulnerable members of our community, including those experiencing mental health, substance abuse and mental/cognitive challenges.
Zuleika is dedicated to creating a legal practice grounded in her values pertaining to intersectional feminism, human rights and social justice. She comes from a background of struggle, and can relate to other people’s experiences of hardship. She is committed to assisting clients to access their legal rights through compassionate representation and community connection.
She obtained her LLB from UBC, and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Victoria. She also completed training in conflict resolution and mediation from the Justice Institute of BC.
Zuleika’s hobbies include rock climbing, hiking, gardening and spending time outdoors with her family and friends.
