Aboriginal Lawyers Forum's annual online auction returns to support Indigenous articling students
The Aboriginal Lawyers Forum has announced the return of its annual online auction celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day. The auction, running June 21 to 29, raises money to support the Warrior Project, which helps to fund articling positions for Indigenous law graduates in BC.
In 2022, the ALF donated $20,000 to create the "CBABC Aboriginal Lawyers Forum Scholarship" to fund Indigenous-to-Canada articling student scholarships through the Everyone Legal Clinic. The 2023 recipient of the CBABC Aboriginal Lawyers Forum Scholarship was Darren Patrick.
Anyone can support this great cause by donating auction items, or by soliciting items to be donated. To donate, email Isabel Jackson by June 9.
Anyone can also contribute directly to the CBABC Aboriginal Lawyers Forum scholarship by going to Access Pro Bono’s Canada Helps webpage, and directing their donation to the “Scholarship Fund - CBABC Aboriginal Lawyers Forum”. Every donation of $25 or more will yield a tax receipt.
