Access Pro Bono receives $300,000 from the Mowafaghian Foundation to support the Everyone Legal Clinic’s articling program
Access Pro Bono Society of BC is delighted to announce $300,000 in funding from the Mowafaghian Foundation to support the continued delivery of its Everyone Legal Clinic articling program.
This generous investment will enable ELC to welcome its seventh cohort of 5–10 articling students for September 2027 to August 2028, supporting the next generation of legal professionals while expanding access to free legal services for people who cannot afford a lawyer.
ELC’s innovative model brings together practical, supervised legal training and public service, empowering articling clinicians to develop their professional skills while helping British Columbians navigate their legal problems.
Abby Eshghi, the Mowafaghian Foundation’s General Counsel & Secretary, said:
“The Mowafaghian Foundation recognizes the significant impact of the legal services provided by the Everyone Legal Clinic, as well as the invaluable learning opportunities it offers its articling clinicians. We commend the Everyone Legal Clinic for its innovative and thoughtful approach to advancing justice.”
Jamie Maclaren, KC, Executive Director of Access Pro Bono, added:
“We are deeply grateful to the Mowafaghian Foundation for this transformative investment in the Everyone Legal Clinic. This support will help us continue training the next generation of legal professionals while connecting more people with the legal assistance they need. The Foundation’s generosity is an important contribution to a more accessible and equitable justice system in British Columbia.”
Thank you to the Mowafaghian Foundation for its commitment to advancing access to justice and supporting innovative approaches to legal service delivery.
