Denea grew up in the Lower Mainland, and obtained both her Bachelor’s degree and first Master’s degree at UBC. She started her career working in various Canadian think tanks. She conducted research and policy analysis for large organizations, before deciding to shift into grassroots level work after finding that she was most fulfilled when working directly with community members.

Denea went on to complete her JD at the internationally-ranked University of Sydney. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2021, and thereafter spent two years working with community legal organizations in Australia. Denea is a tireless advocate for her clients, and has experience working across a wide range of general, everyday law practice areas.

After a number of years living abroad, Denea decided it was time to give back to the Canadian community, and joined the Everyone Legal Clinic as an articling clinician.

When Denea isn’t writing for work, she’s writing for pleasure. She was even inspired to obtain a second Master’s on a part-time basis. Like most Vancouverites, Denea is active and outdoorsy. On rainy days, you can find her at the gym, and when weather permits, you can find her hiking one of our beautiful local trails or riding anything with two wheels.
